I would like to share my experience with this pain management and rehabilitation office. First, I want to say that Dr. Maryam Rahimi is an excellent physician. She is attentive, spends time listening to her patients, and genuinely cares about finding effective treatments. I have been very satisfied with the medical care she provides. Unfortunately, my experience with the office staff has been extremely disappointing. 1. Appointment Scheduling Error After my visit in March, I went to the front desk to schedule my next appointment. I was given an appointment card for May 8 at 9:00 AM, but nobody mentioned the day of the week. I drove approximately 25 miles to the office, only to be told that I had made a mistake because Dr. Rahimi is never in the office on Fridays. The appointment had to be rescheduled. No apology was offered for the inconvenience or the wasted trip. 2. MRI Authorization Mistakes and Lack of Follow-Up On May 26, my neurosurgeon recommended an MRI of my left shoulder and sent his notes to Dr. Rahimi. Dr. Rahimi personally called me and informed me that she had ordered the MRI. I was then transferred to the front office, where I was told the authorization was pending and would take about one week. After waiting a week, I went in person to UMIH on June 2 because I was experiencing severe pain and hoped to obtain an urgent appointment. UMIH informed me that the office had submitted an MRI order for my left shoulder but obtained authorization for a cervical MRI instead. Because of this error, a new authorization request had to be submitted. Between June 2 and June 4, I called the office more than 12 times trying to resolve the issue. I left messages but received no return calls. During my appointment on June 4, I brought up the problem. Instead of acknowledging the mistake or apologizing, I was told that insurance was taking too long to respond. To compare, I called my endocrinologist's office while standing at the front desk. Although the MRI had nothing to do with their specialty, they contacted the insurance company and obtained approval for the correct MRI authorization within approximately 25 minutes. This demonstrated that the issue was not simply the insurance company. 3. Nerve Test Appointment Problem On May 21, Dr. Rahimi ordered a nerve test and instructed her medical assistant to schedule it. I received a call and was scheduled for June 4 at 12:00 PM. When I arrived on June 4 after another 25-mile drive, I was told that the authorization for the nerve test had not been approved and therefore the test could not be performed. The staff claimed they had called me, but I never received any calls or messages. I keep my phone with me at all times and regularly check my voicemail because my elderly parents live in another country and I am always concerned about missing their calls. I am confident that I did not receive any communication from the office regarding this issue. Again, there was no apology for the inconvenience, the lost time, or the unnecessary travel. Overall Dr. Maryam Rahimi provides excellent medical care and has always treated me with professionalism and compassion. However, the office administration and front-desk communication have been consistently frustrating. Repeated scheduling errors, authorization mistakes, failure to return phone calls, and a lack of accountability have caused unnecessary delays in my care and significant stress while dealing with severe pain. I sincerely hope the office improves its communication, responsiveness, and respect for patients' time.

I'm delighted to write this in praise of Dr Rahimi and entire staff on their professionalism. Especially to put up with a cranky old wounded man I've been receiving thoughtful and responsible pain management care from everyone there. These young people are dedicated and great to interact with. I'm blessed to have come here at all. P.A.s are great,trained by the Dr,very careful to cover all medicines and procedures and just very pleasant ,but strict. As a team, we reviewed all manner of pain management. With good results, I think you all saved my life! The techs and the phone people are all classy, thanks, it's you, Dr R. Even the office is nice!

The office staff is so sweet & friendly, They make you feel valued and they listen to you. I was impressed with Paulina who took the time with me over the phone to answer my questions & help me. The doctor I saw was so nice & really listened to me. She did a thorough exam and came up with a treatment plan that was best for my needs. Thank you for a great experience, I highly recommend this office!

From my first call to the office, you could tell they care about you as a person. Not a patient or a $ symbol. The got me in right away once they verified my referral. Other pain doctors were 50-70 days out for an appointment. They apologized for not having an appointment for two weeks due to the holiday season.

From first contact (Pauline on phone) to meeting and treatment by Dr. Rahimi I was treated with excellent customer service and care. As a first time patient I was seen and treated the day I called. Thank-you Dr. Rahimi and team for listening to my concerns and accurately and quickly treating me.

Professional and Caring and not your typical Doctor that likes to say what you want to hear. She tells you what you need to do and fixes the problem the right way the first time. Yes i have had some back experiences.
